The Blackwood Two

The Blackwood Two is a folk duo from lək̓ʷəŋən/Victoria, BC. Dan Belgue and Megan McCaffrey met as buskers on Government St. in Victoria and have been playing music together for nearly seventeen years.

Since then, they have travelled across Canada playing shows, festivals, house concerts, and stages of all sizes. Their music draws from old-time folk, country, and roots traditions, carried by banjo, fiddle, guitar, and two voices woven together.

Their performances move between original songs, reimagined traditional material, and carefully chosen covers. Warm, playful, and grounded in a long musical friendship, their songs carry the feeling of well-travelled roads, shared history, and a deep love of playing music together.
